Here is the recipe for my FAVORITE trail mix. A quick and tasty on the go snack.
Let’s be honest here. I’m a snacker. I think most people are snackers. The only difference is when you’re plant-based, you’re looking for options that are healthy and free of animal products. If you browse through any snack isle in the grocery or convenience store, you’ll find that most items contain animal products and are loaded with salt, fat, sugar, and oil. Searching through all of these can be time-consuming and discouraging. Instead, make your favorite snacks at home!
As someone with a peanut allergy, I have to be especially careful of nut products that I purchase. By making my own trail mix, I know exactly what I’m eating AND it’s everything I could want, without the extra salt, sugar, and random additives. Feel free to replace any of these items with your favorites. Get creative!
- ½ cup cashews
- ½ cup walnuts
- ½ cup pecans
- ¼ cup dried cranberries
- ¼ cup dried apricots
- ¼ cup pumpkin seeds
- ¼ cup coconut chips
- Add all ingredients to a large ziploc bag and shake to mix. Take this with you to work, school, the beach, or anywhere else!
